Housing Options and homelessness
Your local Housing Options team is a small team who provide the council's homelessness service and manage the housing register (also called the waiting list).
Updates on our service due to Coronavirus
Apply for a council or housing association home: Following the government's advice that people can now move house, the council will restart advertising council and housing association properties that are available for allocating to applicants on the council's housing register as from Friday 22 May.
Therefore the next HomeOption Freesheet will be published on the HomeOption website as from 9.00am on Friday 22 May and every Friday thereafter. Shortlists close every Wednesday at 1pm.
We have put together some homelessness frequently asked questions.
The Housing Options team
A duty Housing Options officer is available Monday 8:30am to 5pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 1pm to 5pm and Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.
Our Housing Options officers want to help and are experienced in assisting people in various situations including:
- people who have lost their accommodation
- people who are worried about losing their home
- people who need to move
If you are already a Council tenant your Housing officer will provide advice.
