Changes to Christmas and New Year bin collections

Uttlesford residents are being advised of some important changes to the bin collection schedules over Christmas and New Year.

Due to the way the public holidays fall and the limited opportunity for the refuse vehicles to tip waste at the transfer station (this is where the waste has to go before it can be sent for recycling), there will be no bin collections in the week of Christmas.

The following week, collections of the black-lidded bin and food caddy will be as normal on Tuesday 31 December - however, there not be any collections on New Year's Day. As a result, collections for the remainder of that week will be a day later than usual - for example, if your bin is normally collected on a Friday, it will instead be collected on the Saturday (4 January 2020).

All collections will return to normal from Tuesday 7 January 2020 - this is for the green-lidded recycling bin and food caddy. If you fill your recycling bin before this time, you can use any plastic bags (not black bags) or a cardboard box and put these next to your bin for collection.
