Day centres

Day centres: All our day centres will be closed from Tuesday 17 March.

Leisure centres

Leisure centres: The Mountfitchet Romeera Leisure Centre Stansted , Great Dunmow Leisure Centre and Lord Butler Leisure Centre Saffron Walden will all be closed from Friday 20 March until further notice.

Whilst our leisure centres are closed 1Life are offering an online activity and coaching package to help you stay healthy at home.

Keep active

Active Essex have put together a number of online resources to support you and your local sports clubs during the coronavirus outbreak.

The Active Essex You Tube channel features sports and workouts that you can do whilst in lockdown.

Keeping active from home provides guidance for people of all fitness levels and includes exercises for families and older people.

How's your local sports club doing in lockdown? Active Essex's support for the sport and physical activity sector package has lots of ideas for helping to keep your local club or organisation running.

Saffron Walden Museum

Saffron Walden Museum: The museum will be closed from Wednesday 18 March.


The government have announced a £1.57 billion investment to protect Britain's world-class cultural, arts and heritage institutions.

Sport England  and the Arts Council England have grant funding available to help support local groups and organisations through the coronavirus outbreak.
