Restart and Additional Restrictions grants

The Restart Grant scheme supports businesses in the non-essential retail, hospitality, leisure, personal care and accommodation sectors with a one-off grant, to reopen safely as COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) is a discretionary scheme to help businesses which have had to close, or been able to trade, but have been severely affected by the COVID-19 restrictions, regardless of whether they pay business rates.

Coronavirus Test and Trace Support Payments

If you are told to self-isolate, you cannot work from home and you have lost income as a result, you may be eligible for a £500 Test and Trace Support Payment.

Kickstart Scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long term unemployment. Essex County Council has applied to act as an intermediary for businesses in Essex, so businesses which can't meet the 30 minimum placements can participate.
