The public inspection period for 2019/20 has been delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The period for the exercise of public rights under the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 is normally required to include the first 10 working days of June; this requirement has been suspended for 2020.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that from 22rd June to 31st July 2020 inclusive, any person interested may request copies of the accounts of Uttlesford District Council for the year ended 31st March 2020, and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.

NOTICE is also given that on or after 22rd June 2020 until the completion of the audit, the Auditor, at the request of members of the public and local government electors for any area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or his representative an opportunity to question them about the accounts and make objections as to any matter in respect of which the Auditor could take action under Section 17 of the Audit Commission Act 1998 (namely, an unlawful item of account), or could make a report in the public interest under Section 8 of that Act. Subject to any questions raised on the accounts, these will then be published by 30th September 2020.
No objection may be made unless the Auditor has previously received written notice at the above address of the proposed objection and its grounds. A copy of this notice must also be sent to the address below.
