Essex County Council Election 2021

Essex County Council election will be held, along with the Police Fire and Crime Commissioner election postponed from 2020, on Thursday, 6 May 2021.

 

Who is standing in this election? 

The are 4 electoral divisions within Uttlesford, each of which has one elected member of Essex County Council.  They are:

  • Dunmow
  • Saffron Walden
  • Stansted
  • Thaxted

If you do not receive a poll card by Friday 9 April 2021 this may mean you are not registered to vote especially if you have moved house in the last few months - call 01799 510510 to check. To register to vote go to www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
 

Students

To take part in this election you will need to be registered to vote. 
The deadline to register is midnight, Monday 19 April 2021 and you can register at both home and university - but you can only vote once.
If you want to vote somewhere else from where you are currently (for example, you can vote at your university address if you'll be at home) you can apply for a postal vote.  

If you currently have a postal vote this goes to the forwarding address you have previously given us which if you are now studying from home or have moved halls of residence etc., may not now be correct so please contact usto check.
