Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy consultation 2019
We are asking you to comment on our plans to help prevent homelessness and rough sleeping in Uttlesford.
We have put together a draft five year Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy which includes plans to help prevent and reduce homelessness in the district.
The strategy focuses on how we can prevent people becoming homeless in the first place, but also outlines how we intend to work with a wide range of other ogranisations to assist people sleeping rough in the district and offer them ways off the streets and into good quality affordable housing or suitable temporary accommodation.
The strategy is based around the four key priorities:
• Improving the effectiveness of the council's homelessness prevention work
• Aiming to end all use of bed and breakfast accommodation
• Working with partners and other stakeholders to prevent homelessness
• Working to maintain Uttlesford as an area without rough sleeping
