The planning application was submitted on 22 February with the deadline for public consultation responses set at 3 April. This is 19 days longer than the council's formal consultation period of 21 days.

Since the application has been submitted, there have been a number of requests for an extension to this public consultation period. Given the nature of this planning application and the council's strong desire to ensure that everyone who wants to have a say has the opportunity to do so, the council has agreed to extend the consultation deadline to Monday 30 April.

By doing so, local residents and interested parties will have more time to consider and prepare their final comments. This in turn will enable the Planning Committee to take all appropriate comments into account before determining the planning application, currently scheduled for 18 July.

A resource page is available on the council website at which includes access to a summary of the planning application details, the important dates and key documents, and details on how to comment. It also includes a link to the council's planning application system for anyone who wants more detailed information or is wishing to respond.

The easiest way to comment is via the online planning system. The planning application reference is UTT/18/0460/FUL.

People can also email their comments to or write to: Uttlesford District Council, London Road, Saffron Walden CB11 4ER.

Paper copies of the application can be viewed at the UDC offices in Saffron Walden during opening hours.
